MARCH MAIN MEETING
YES, WE ARE LIVE AND SIMULCAST
AT HIGHLAND BREWING COMPANY
JOIN US!
The only thing certain in life is death and taxes.
Planning is essential to protect everything dear to you. Hear stories as to why you absolutely need to create your end-of-life plan. Andy Strauss will also tell you why you need to do this, where to start and explain how the process works.
Recent past years have brought us many changes – who you can hug, how close you can stand, how many masks to wear, etc., so it is no surprise that our laws relating to real estate investing are also changing.
To help you understand these changes and the ramifications of these changes for your business, CREIA is bringing you Andy Strauss to illuminate the landscape! Andy is a familiar face to members of CREIA – he has been a frequent speaker at CREIA events over the years. At this meeting, Andy will talk about basic estate planning and the changes that occurred in the recent past regarding IRAs, etc. and the expected decrease in estate tax exemption. He also will discuss how to prepare or modify plans for future eventualities, and more.
A local and accomplished attorney, Andy is a board-certified specialist in estate planning and probate law with a long list of accolades and distinctions including published author, lecturer, speaker, and philanthropist. In 2016, Andy was recognized as a Top-Rated Lawyer in Trust & Estates by American Lawyer and Martindale-Hubbell™ and in 2019, he received the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards by AV Preeminent.
Proactive planning is the key. Whether your estate plan is simple or complex, Strauss Attorneys, PLLC will assess your situation, gather the necessary information, and create an in-depth plan using some of the latest estate planning techniques. This frequently includes developing wills and trusts, which in turn give you greater control over your choice of beneficiary and/or wealth distribution. We were among the first law firms in western North Carolina to use FLPs, LLCs and revocable living trusts to protect people’s estate plans and minimize estate tax liability. These strategies continue to be successful today.
We encourage you not to put off until tomorrow what you could be doing today. When it comes to estate planning, time is of the essence. The future is highly unpredictable. Handing over your hard-earned money for unnecessary taxes or nursing home expenses does not have to be an option.
